Facts about our Caps!
Did your cap come with some discoloration around the edges? This is normal and from the laser cutting the cap shape. Here is a video explaining the dark edges.
All of our caps are made with stainless steel.
Each cap will vary from the other. Some click once, and with some, you might experience two clicks.
The Cap is unlike any other vaporizer, so give it a few tries empty to get the feel of its unique temperature-indicating click.
Heat the Cap in a quiet area, listen, and feel, so you know what you are looking for. If you are using a torch lighter, this should not take more than 5 or 6 seconds. Heat the middle of the cap, not the end, and rotate while heating. If more than 4 seconds go by and you don’t hear the click, stop heating it and let it cool down.
If you severely overheat your Cap, it can be permanently damaged. It is very important that you hear the cool down click or allow it to cool to the touch before heating it for the next cycle.
It is VERY important to wait until you hear the cool down click before applying more heat.
Depending on your personal preference and heat source, as well as how many cycles since the Cap was loaded, you may want to apply heat for 1-2 seconds after the click. This will provide a different level of roasted flavor.
DO NOT APPLY HEAT FOR MORE THAN 3 SECONDS PAST THE CLICK! OVERHEATING WILL PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE CAP!
The fin on the cap is called "the digger outer."
To remove consumed material from the chamber, use the built-in extractor or “digger outer” to empty the chamber.
If your cap is loose, it just needs adjusting.
Heating your cap after removing it from the liquid will ruin the cap. We do not recommend soaking your cap.
When heating, focus the heat toward the middle and back of the cap, not the tip.
The low-temp cap is designed for low-temperature and terpy hits.
Caps will darken over time with continual use.
The cap's click temperature is between 230-250 degrees Celsius, and the low-temp cap is between 205-220 degrees Celcius.
The lines inside the cap are dye placed on the material by the manufacturer for identification.
Is it safe?
The lines are permanent, there is no potential for off-gassing when the material is heated, nor will they rub off on any substance used with the device. In fact, these markings have always been present but were previously located on the opposite side of the snap disc.
